DJI Matrice 400 (M400) — Engineered for Excellence, Designed for Versatility
The DJI Matrice 400 (M400) is DJI’s enterprise flagship drone platform — a purpose-built aerial powerhouse combining a 59-minute flight time, 6 kg payload capacity, and integrated rotating LiDAR with mmWave radar for power-line-level obstacle sensing. Engineered for the most demanding operational environments, the M400 supports simultaneous multi-payload configurations across inspection, mapping, public safety, and emergency response — all managed through the O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission system with up to 40 km range.

Extended Flight Time & High-Speed Performance
The M400 delivers up to 59 minutes of forward flight time and up to 53 minutes of hover time — even when carrying a payload. Its maximum horizontal speed of 25 m/s makes it ideal for time-critical operations such as search and rescue, firefighting, and large-scale mapping. A maximum takeoff altitude of 7,000 m ensures reliable performance at any elevation.
Built for Challenging Conditions
With an IP55 protection rating, the Matrice 400 operates reliably through heavy dust and rain (up to 100 mm/24 hr). It maintains stable performance across a wide operating temperature of −20° to 50° C, delivering consistent results whether flying in desert heat or sub-zero cold. For desert, coastal, and industrial environments in the UAE and wider Middle East, this is the standard of durability that operations demand.
Power-Line-Level Obstacle Sensing
The M400’s advanced obstacle sensing integrates rotating LiDAR, high-precision mmWave radar, and full-color low-light fisheye vision sensors — detecting even thin obstacles like high-voltage power lines across mountainous terrain, in darkness, and through rain and fog. When directly facing a transmission line (21.6 mm steel-core aluminium stranded wire), obstacle sensing is supported at speeds up to 25 m/s. When both transmission lines and distribution lines (12 mm) are present, sensing is supported at up to 17 m/s.
O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission — Up to 40 km
The ten-antenna system on the aircraft combined with the high-gain phased array antenna on the RC Plus 2 Enterprise Enhanced achieves image transmission up to 40 km (FCC). The M400 supports the sub2G frequency band and, when equipped with two DJI Cellular Dongle 2 modules, automatically switches to the best available carrier network — maintaining a stable signal even in dense urban interference environments or remote regions.
Airborne Relay Video Transmission
The Matrice 400 has a built-in video transmission relay module. One M400 can serve as a relay drone, flying high to extend the signal range for another M400 operating beyond line of sight. This significantly extends operational reach — making it ideal for search and rescue operations and inspections in mountainous or canyon terrain where ground relay infrastructure is unavailable.
Full-Color Vision Assist
Four full-color low-light fisheye vision sensors provide omnidirectional coverage, enabling Full-Color Vision Assist for safer flight in complex environments. Combined with the rotating LiDAR, upper LiDAR, downward 3D infrared sensor, and six-direction mmWave radar, the M400 achieves a comprehensive 360° sensing system that supports precise hovering and obstacle avoidance — even in total darkness (below 12 lux, sensors switch to black-and-white mode).
Smart Detection
With the Zenmuse H30 Series’ combined visible and thermal imaging, the M400 detects vehicles, vessels, and subjects during search and rescue operations or routine patrols. Smart Detection supports switching between detection models to expand application scenarios, and includes high-resolution grid photos and powerful tracking capabilities — keeping targets locked even when briefly obscured.
Real-Time Terrain Follow
The M400 supports Real-Time Terrain Follow in any horizontal direction — during both manual and automated flight routes — maintaining a stable relative height above the ground. During large-scale search and rescue operations, this keeps ground subject size consistent on the screen, reducing zoom adjustments. During mapping missions, it maintains a consistent ground sampling distance (GSD) for high-precision data regardless of terrain variation.
Takeoff and Landing on Ships
For offshore operations — maritime patrol, wind turbine inspection, oil and gas platform surveys — the M400 supports takeoff from stationary vessels and landing on moving vessels. By detecting standard landing point patterns on the deck, it achieves safe and precise landings without manual intervention. Recommended when ship speed is below 10 knots and wind speed is below 5 m/s; reserve a 3 m × 3 m landing area on the deck.
Power Line Follow with Zenmuse L2
When equipped with the Zenmuse L2 LiDAR system, the M400 performs fully automated power transmission and distribution line following flights. The rotating LiDAR detects obstacles in real time and automatically routes around crossing lines — dramatically reducing the time and risk of manual line inspection. Combined with DJI Pilot 2 or DJI FlightHub 2 slope and geometric route planning, the M400 becomes a complete end-to-end power inspection and mapping solution.
